JOINT INJECTIONS
Steroid injections are used to treat swollen or painful joints, for example after an injury or in arthritis. They can also be used to treat painful tendons or a bursitis (when a small bag of fluid that cushions a joint becomes inflamed). Injections into joints are called intra-articular injections, the steroid is injected directly into the joint. This usually relieves pain and swelling and should improve your range of motion if this has been affected. You should get relief for several months. The joints we inject here at the surgery include knees and shoulders.
