MENOPAUSE

MENOPAUSE

The menopause is defined as the last menstrual period. The average age for this to occur in Ireland is 51. There is, however, a wide variation in the age that menopause occurs. When this happens, hormone production declines which can cause bothersome symptoms in some women.

Our doctors are well trained and versed on guidelines to discuss your options available to treat your symptoms at this time. We also advise women to be more mindful of their cholesterol, blood pressure and bone health when menopause occurs, as the fall in oestrogen can have a harmful effect on these things.
